HTC Desire C is now official

The HTC Desire C is now finally official - HTC itself has posted the first promo video of the handset, showing off its Sense flavor on top of Android. The Desire C is an Android handset that comes with an affordable price and a 3.5-inch display.

The phone is one of the few attempts of HTC to go at the low-end, and this time the company has chosen to count on its traditional industrial design and colors like red, white and black for the HTC Desire C.

So far, HTC is only announcing this for the UK market, but we’re sure it will make its way to other European and global markets later on as well. Question remains, though, whether it’d hit US shores, and looking back at earlier lower-end HTC models the answer may be no, but let’s hang on and see.

Here are the spec highlights:

- Android 4.0 ICS with HTC Sense 4.0
- 600MHz processor, 512MB of RAM
- 3.5-inch HVGA screen
- 5-megapixel camera
- 4GB internal storage, 25GB of free Dropbox cloud storage
- Beats Audio

The HTC Desire C price is around $275 (£169.99) off contract and the phone will be also available on Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin Media, Three, O2, Phones4U, The Carphone Warehouse and Tesco Mobile in the UK. The release date is set for June this year for some markets.
