iPhone 5 in Sept, iPad Mini in Aug, Say Sources

If the rumors are to believed, the fall is going to be a very busy time for Apple with a new iPhone and potentially multiple iPad sizes.

According to Taiwan-based supply chain makers that spoke with DigiTimes, Pegatron has landed orders with Apple to begin work on the iPhone 5 for a September release. Additionally, the company has also supposedly secured orders for a 10-inch iPad that would be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. While the iPhone release date doesn’t come as a huge surprise, the iPad is a bit of a mystery as the current model is already 9.7-inches and the latest iteration only hit the market in March. Releasing another iPad within the same calendar year seems a bit out of character for the Cupertino-based company.

Of course, no round of rumors wouldn’t be complete lately without a mention of the iPad Mini. According to the same report, the rumored 7.85-inch iPad will be manufactured by Foxconn and will launch in August.

While the iPhone seems like a lock for a fall release, both the iPad pieces of information do seem a bit suspect to us.As long time Apple rumor followers know, DigiTimes has a hit-or-miss track record when it comes to reports such as this, so definitely remember to take these with a grain of salt.
