I hate phones with long names. And, as much as I like HTC's design aesthetic on this handset, I feel the same way about its moniker: the HTC Incredible 4G LTE.
Announced by Verizon, the latest successor to the Incredible line doesn’t carry as much punch as its predecessors did when they first hit the scene, especially with the One X and One S currently carrying the banner for HTC. However, the specs don't sound too shabby, either.
Details of the HTC Incredible 4G LTE include a 4-inch Super LCD (960 x 540 resolution), an 8.0 megapixel camera (with autofocus, LED flash and 1080p video recording), a front-facing video cam, aGPS, 4G connectivity, WiFi (with Mobile Hotspot up to 10 users), Bluetooth, NFC, 8GB of onboard storage, microSD card expansion (up to 32GB) and a 1,700 mAh battery module. Muscle is provided by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM.
Like the rest of HTC's recent releases, the phone comes reinforced with Beats Audio tech for improved music playback and Sense UI 4.0. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with all the usual Google Mobile Services and accompanying bloatware.
Late last month, Verizon slipped up and listed the HTC Incredible 4G LTE on their official website temporarily. Back then, it was priced at $299.99 on a two-year agreement, which sounds a little too high for the currently-revealed specs. No pricing was announced in the press release, but we expect it to come down to the standard $199.99 for the same contract terms
