Samsung Focus 2 Announced

The Nokia Lumia 900 may have imprinted itself as the "quality Windows Phone handset for budget users," but Samsung won't take it lying down. In fact, they might give the Finnish handset a solid run for its money with the Samsung Focus 2, a new affordably-priced Windows Phone device joining the roster of AT&T.

Available in every color of your choosing (as long as it's glossy white), the phone doesn't really challenge the Lumia's appearance much. However, it is quite attractive in its own right (especially in that familiar Samsung design aesthetic), sporting the rounded edges of the original Focus. It measures in at 10.96 mm thin and weighs 4.3 ounces.

Just like the last two Windows Phone devices to come out, the Samsung Focus 2 comes with 4G LTE support, ensuring fast data speeds for its users. Details of the handset include a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display (400 x 800 resolution), a 5.0 megapixel camera (with 720p video recording), a front-facing VGA video cam, aGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 8GB of onboard storage, a 1750mAh battery module and a 1.4GHz single-core processor. It runs a minimally-touched version of Windows Phone 7.5.

While those specs probably won't beat the Lumia 900 or the HTC Titan II, the price sure does. The Samsung Focus 2 hits AT&T stores May 20th, priced at $49.99 on a two-year agreement.
