Samsung Galaxy S III Now Official

As expected, the Samsung Galaxy S III has received official status this week.  And based on what's been announced, it sure deserves every bit of the hype.
Set to be the Korean company's new flagship device, the handset packs every cutting-edge hardware you can imagine, all while maintaining its slightly smaller predecessor's  slim footprint.  The phone's design looks sleek just judging from the photos, too.  Dimensions are 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm, with a weight of 133 grams.
Details of the Samsung Galaxy S III include a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display (720 x 1280 resolution), an 8.0 megapixel camera module (with 1080p video recording and zero shutter lag), a 1.9 megapixel forward-facing video cam, aGPS, 4G LTE (for US, with HSPA+ versions for other countries where appropriate), WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, a choice of built-in storage (16, 32 and 64GB), microSD card expansion and a 2100mAh battery.  Muscle is provided by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM.
The phone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz 4.0.  Samsung included a whole host of added features on top of the stock Android OS, including Smart Stay (which uses the front video cam to determine if you're looking at the phone), Direct Call (which streamlines the calling process by automating actions) and PopUp Play (which pop-ups the video into a small thumbnail window so you can use other apps while watching), among many others.
The Samsung Galaxy S III will be available in Europe first, hitting markets by may 29.  North America gets it during the summer.  It will come in two colors -- white and blue.
